VERMONT Automobile Insurance Coverages
Please Note: WE CAN NOT QUOTE ON OUT OF STATE INSURANCE.

Automobile insurance in the state of Vermont comes with various coverages and options. The following is a brief description of those coverages and options that are available to you. We hope this helps you understand what can be a complicated but necessary purchase.

Liability Coverages

You have your choice of "Split Limits" which are broken down into "Bodily Injury per Person", "Bodily Injury per Accident", and "Property Damage per Accident."

Or, you can purchase on a "Combined Single Limit" per accident basis. This limit pays for bodily injury and property damage per accident up to the limit you have selected.

Liability provides you with protection for bodily injury and property damages that you or an operator of your vehicle may cause through the use of your vehicle. You should purchase adequate liability limits to protect your assets from law suits. We recommend that our insureds purchase a personal liability umbrella policy to cover losses in excess of the personal auto liability limits. Our Agency policy is not to write liability limits below 100/300/100 for our clients in the standard market. We feel we would be doing our customers a disservice to enable lower limits of liability than these; and, we strongly encourage our insureds to maintain higher limits (primary or excess) to ensure adequate liability protection.

Un & Underinsured Motorist Coverage

This coverage provides you with liability coverage from other drivers who may not have enough insurance or have no insurance. It provides for bodily injury to you, members of your household and passengers of your vehicle. As an Agency policy we match the un & underinsured motorist limits to our clients' liability limits to ensure that you are provided the same liability coverages that you are providing to others.

Medical Payments Coverage

This coverage provides medical expense coverage for you and occupants of your vehicle if injured in an auto related accident. For coverage to apply, the vehicle does not even have to be moving.

Your policy provides for any medical expenses up to the limit selected regardless of who is at fault. Med Pay, as it is commonly called, is "goodwill" insurance, which attempts to mollify injured people, with no requisite liability on the operator's part, in an attempt to prevent lawsuits.

Other coverages available ...
